• Question: Do you think there will ever be a proper cure for altsimers?

      Hiya,

      Alzheimer’s disease is related to amyloid (protein) plaques in the brain which disrupt the neural pathways. I don’t know much more than this but a proper cure (or preventative treatment option) does not seem like a ridiculous notion.

      Hi,
      We work on Alzheimer’s disease in my lab, among other things, and I think the answer is yes. It’s a hard one, but we’re learning more all the time and there’s now a big focus on Alzheimer’s research that perhaps wasn’t their 10 years or so ago. I don’t know when it will happen, but I’m confident that before long we’ll at least able to stop Alzheimer’s early in its tracks.
