People can change their opinions and attitudes as they age, but this is generally more to do with life experiences rather than the actual number of years they have been alive. However, there are also brain diseases like dementia that are relatively common in old age that are partially scary because they can affect your personality.
To add to Carolyns answer, I think that it’s important to remember that your brain ages as you get older. It’s not just dementia or life experiences that can affect personality, but I think that your physical ability to do things can affect how you behave as well, at least outwardly, as well as general memory loss.
It doesn’t have to though. My Grandmother-in-law passed away at the age of 87 last week and when she was in the mood she would still giggle and behave as though she were a 21-year old girl again!
