Hi Ella – we sneeze when something irritates the inside of our nose – it’s our way of getting stuff out. this could be dust or something like pepper, or when we have a cold it’s caused by the inside of our nose swelling and itching. Did you know that when we sneeze, mucus can come out at up to 35mph. It’s also virtually impossible to sneeze with your eyes open – although it’s not true that if you do your eyes will pop out of your head!
