      Hey horsey – It’s the same as hair colour change in humans. the colour is made by special cells at the base of each hair and is make up to two pigments. As a human/dog ages, the cells that make these pigments can change, so the colour will changes. You’ll even see old dogs with grey hairs, just like a person….
