  no more than your pet mouse at home would. They pee in their cage so as long as you clean them out regularly, just like you would a pet, it’s not so bad. You get used to it!

  I bit more often than sometimes 😛 male mice especially are a bit smelly because they use pee to mark the territory.
  Also the urine of mice contains particular proteins that can easily trigger a allergic reaction. That’s why we always work under a fume hood: the hair is sucked and filtered so you don’t have inhale the air near the cage. No smell of allergies 😉
