      Hi Kibblewibblw,

People have actually done research into this and the conclusion is that there was not obvious increase in cases of joint disease in people who cracked their knuckles, although a second study has shown that knuckle-crackers may have less strength in their grip as they get older.

Since people cracking their knuckles makes we wince, I’d say the only real effect it can have is on the people around you!

HI Kibble, Richard is right, we don’t know. My knees crack all the time, as does my back and I can make my neck do it to… I didn’t have this when I was younger and it hasn’t come with any pain.

Its a good job I don’t work anywhere near Richard!
