• Question: Have you ever had Diacetyl peroxide explode into your face. If you have what was it like. I have used it before at my house and it made a bit of a mess. Thanks, Quxck

      Nope never. Actually I have never had something exploding on my face…..but I have a lot of gross stories of gross stuff on people faces from when I was at uni. Studying to be a vet can be very fun, if the gross things don’t happen to you 😛

      No. I have had a chemical burn from a spill once and it was not nice. Luckily lab scientists are trained to stay safe in the lab (we would use a face shield for handling explosive chemicals, for example) and know what to do if something goes wrong…

      No. I agree with Richard, use protective clothing and goggles when you are dealing with chemicals.

      I did once paint the outside of my mums house with something called Creosote (a wood preservative), stupidly, didn’t have any cover on my face and, as well as stains from the splashes, my eyes and skin were stinging for days after. It was REALLY nasty.
