• Question: is there any difference in female mice and male mice?

      Yup, sure there are! apart from the body size (males are bigger and tend to put on more weight), most differences are on behaviour. Male mice are quite aggressive, even with their cage mates. Sometimes we have some very naughty ones that bite their mates and give them bad wounds. Females are waaay more friendly and calm and get along just fine. Although because they have hormonal changes (because of their oestrus cycle) they are less reliable for behaviour studies.
