Brilliant. Do you like being outside? there can be a lot of field work with marine biology so, if you like being outside, it will be a great career for you.

Good for you. It’s important that we learn about and protect marine life, where we can. I’m often jealous when you see marine biologists on TV out in boats watching whales off the coast of Hawaii or wherever. I know it’s not always that glamorous, and people have to work hard, but it beats a rainy November morning in Manchester!

I am always a bit envy when people work on marine biology.
I think it is very interesting, and I mean, our planet is mostly water, it is important that we learn to preserve the habitat

My advice is always to follow your passion. The rest will take care of itself. I did sport and exercise science when nobody had really heard of it and some even advised me against it, but it was the best educational decision I ever made! Good luck!

I agree with Peter- the most important thing is to go with whatever you find the most interesting, and you don’t need to have every detail decided from the start!

I have a good friend who did marine biology and she really liked it. She went on an exciting training course somewhere exotic, but now is based in the UK sampling water around the coastline trying to monitor wildlife and pollution.
