I found a gene that wasn’t never connect to kidney disease before but that looks to be associated with one. I discovered this on mice and I am about to confirm it happens in humans too

The most interesting find is always either the most recent, or the most unexpected. We’ve been studying Huntington’s disease, a form of dementia which is associated with a certain part of the brain. We have found changes in this disease which not only occur in the region known to be affected, but also in regions which were thought not to be involved. We see the same change in Alzheimer’s disease as well, and it could be a new mechanism for how both diseases develop.
