There are hundreds of different cancers, depending on where in the body they come from. Some we can cure already (some blood cancers in children, for example), some we have no idea how to cure. I think that, in time, we will be able to have treatments for most of them, but I’m sure that there will always be a few that we struggle with because of how and where they grow.
As Richard says, cancer is actually not a single disease. There could be as many cancer as cell types. And they can lead to different complications too.
Science has been really good at trying to fight cancer so far, I can’t see it stopping and we will probably get to the point where we would be able to get rid of most of them.
I also think that we will have better way of screening because, as for any disease, the sooner you find them the better you can treat them!
